Steel pipes, tubes and alloy materials

Steel and metal materials for oil and gas, petrochemical, power, construction and manufacturing projects: carbon and alloy steel tubes, stainless steel, nickel, titanium, copper and aluminum pipes and tubes, line pipe and OCTG, fin tubes and U-tubes for heat exchangers, pipe fittings and flanges, plates, coils, bars and wire rod, coated steel, and tower packing and column internals.

How to specify steel and alloy materials

Specify by standard first: the same grade name can mean different chemistry under ASTM, EN, JIS and GB. Then match the material to the service: carbon steel for water, steam and structures; stainless steel for corrosion resistance and hygiene; nickel alloys such as Inconel 625 and titanium such as Titanium Grade 2 for seawater, acids and high temperature; and copper-nickel for marine cooling. For heat exchangers, choose the tube material and fin type together, as with the longitudinal fin tube. Pipe systems need matching fittings and flanges such as the blind flange, and oil and gas wells need casing and tubing with the right connection, such as a premium connection.

What to send for a quotation

Send the grade and standard, the dimensions (outside diameter, wall thickness and length, or thickness, width and length), the quantity, the end finish, the certificates and inspection you need, and the destination port.

FAQ

Which certificates should I ask for?

Mill test certificates to EN 10204 3.1 are the usual requirement; 3.2 certificates involve a third-party inspector. Tell us which you need so it is included in the quotation.

Seamless or welded pipe?

Seamless pipe is used for high pressure and high temperature. Welded pipe is economical for larger diameters and lower pressures, and is fully tested to its standard.

Can you match the grade on our drawing?

Send the standard and grade from your drawing or material take-off, or an old certificate, and we will quote the equivalent grade.
