Refractory materials for iron and steel plants

Refractory materials for iron and steel plants and other high-temperature industries: raw materials such as fused and tabular alumina, magnesia, spinel, silicon carbide and graphite, and finished products for each stage of steelmaking — blast furnace and iron runner, torpedo car and iron ladle, basic oxygen furnace, electric arc furnace, steel ladle and tundish. YuxingCorp coordinates sourcing, inspection and delivery to your plant.

How to choose refractories by furnace zone

Choose by the zone and the wear mechanism, not only by the product name. Converter and electric arc furnace slag lines use magnesia-carbon bricks such as the MgO-C Brick for BOF; tapping areas use dedicated tap-hole bricks, EBT bricks and filling sand. Steel ladles combine Al₂O₃-MgO-C bricks or MgO-C bricks with slide gates and purging plugs, while tundish refractories include a working-lining dry mass or coating and a flow-control set: ladle shroud, stopper, submerged entry nozzle and metering nozzles. Blast furnaces need carbon and silicon carbide blocks and anhydrous tapping clay. For raw materials such as tabular alumina, the grade sheet on each page lists chemistry and grain sizes; refractory makers usually choose by Al₂O₃ or MgO content and impurity limits.

What to send for a quotation

Send the furnace or vessel type and capacity, the zone, the material or brand you use now and its data sheet, the campaign life you get today, monthly or annual consumption, and the destination port. For shaped products, send the drawings.

FAQ

Can you match the material we use now?

Send the data sheet of your current brick, castable or mass and the conditions in that zone, and we will propose a matching grade from the range on this page.

Magnesia-carbon or alumina-magnesia-carbon bricks?

MgO-C bricks resist basic slag and are used in the slag lines of converters, electric arc furnaces and ladles. Al₂O₃-MgO-C bricks are used in ladle walls and bottoms, where spalling resistance and cost matter more.

Do you supply raw materials for refractory makers?

Yes. Fused and tabular alumina, calcined and reactive alumina, calcined bauxite, fused and dead-burned magnesia, spinel, silicon carbide and flake graphite are listed with their grade sheets.
